Quebec Investor Program 2020 – Process, Eligibility and Requirements

Québec selects business immigrants as per its immigration objectives and Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) is one of three immigration program for entrepreneurs, self employed people and investors alike who want to come to Québec to participate in its economic development by making an investment.

Maximum Applications accepted: 1,900

(maximum of 1,235 applications from China including Hong Kong and Macao)

Intake Period: September 10, 2018 to March 5, 2019.


Eligibility for Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP)

Candidate applying under this program must meet following eligibility requirements:

  • Willing to invest CAD 1,200,000 for five years with Québec approves financial intermediaries which can either be broker or a trust company. Note: Investment money can also be financed.
  • A minimum of CAD 2,000,000 net worth acquired legally, alone or with your spouse or common law partner.
  • Atleat two years of management experience in last five years prior to submission of application. Experience must include duties related to the planning, management and control of financial, human or material resources under your authority. Note: Experience acquired during training, apprenticeship or specialization leading to a diploma is not considered.

Like mentioned above QIIP requires candidate to sign an investment agreement of CAD 1,200,000 with one of the financial trust companies, intermediaries or brokers which are authorized by Quebec or Canada Federal government to participate in the Investor Program. This makes investment in Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) safe compared to any other Provincial Investor program.

For Priory processing and exclusion from maximum number of applications, Investor candidates should have advanced intermediate proficiency in French. Original result certificate demonstrating a level equal to or greater than 7 on the Québec scale of proficiency levels in French in both oral tests (oral comprehension
and oral production) has to be presented for same.

Note: Francophone status is indicated by F on Québec Certificate of selection.


Requirements for Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP)

Candidates under QIIP stream are evaluated on factors including Invest Agreement, management experience, age,  education, visits and family Québec and French or English proficiency. To meet the requirements one should:

  • Have minimum score of 40 points from maximum available 94
  • Have mandatory cutoff of 10 points for management experience
  • Have mandatory cut off of 25 points for investment agreement.
